Uncle Carl's Radio Show

A series of audio rants created by Carl Bird that were streamed on SoundCloud as well as broadcast on a pirate radio station in the Rockford, IL area.

Production

The existing recordings are of extremely low quality. They were recorded on tapes that seem to have already had material on them, in a very noisy environment. They were almost certainly made in an impromptu manner while Carl sat in his van near a park or a busy road. Given Carl's limited understanding of technology, he had his friend Crazy Jose digitize the recordings for wider distribution.

Pirate broadcasts

Both episodes of Uncle Carl's Radio Show were broadcast several times over a period of two weeks in Rockford, IL from a mobile pirate radio station that typically features underground hip hop programming. As of 2026, the operator of the station is still unknown and at large. The US Federal Communications Commission has attempted to locate Bird for questioning but has been unsuccessful.
